Adam Afshar
President, Hyde Park Global Investments

Adam Afshar is Hyde Park Global’s President and Chief Executive Officer. Adam has over 2 decades of industry experience including 12 years at Bear Stearns where he was a Managing Director, overseeing portfolios for both onshore and offshore clients.

At Hyde Park Global, based out of Atlanta, Georgia, he leads the team of scientists and engineers that are involved in developing the ideas and the infrastructure for machine based robotic trading as well as risk control, the internal audit team and the marketing group. Hyde Park Global is a 100% machine based portfolio management company. The firm uses no analysts, portfolio managers or traders; 100% of the operation is machine based, using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Genetic Algorithm (GA).

He has served on numerous boards, including the Finance Committee of the Board of Trustees of Wofford College and is currently member of the Board of Directors of Ariana Pharma in Paris, France. Ariana is a leading Artificial Intelligence and Robotic company, focused on transforming data into information to accelerate the discovery and development process and to improve the safety of pharmaceutical drugs. Ariana is located in central Paris, and is a spinoff of the Institut Pasteur. It was launched in 2003.

Adam Afshar has a BA in Economics from Wofford College and received his MBA from the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business.

Kevin Chapman
Managing Director and Head of Trading, Nicholas-Applegate Capital Management

Kevin Chapman oversees the firm’s equity trading operations. As head trader, he has responsibility for advising portfolio managers and analysts on all market information relevant to their holdings. He joined the firm’s International trading team in 1998 and has played a key role in non-U.S. trading activities, including managing the firm’s trading offices in Amsterdam. Prior to joining the firm, he was an international equity trader with Strong Capital Management, Inc. Kevin earned his M.S. in management-finance analysis and his B.B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He has sixteen years of investment industry experience.

Stephen P. Davenport, CFA
Vice President & Head of Equity Risk Management, Wilmington Trust

Steve serves as head of Equity Risk Management for Wilmington Trust
Investment Management, the investment management arm of
Wilmington Trust Corporation. He is responsible for developing risk-managed investment strategies for high-net-worth clients. Steve has a strong background in quantitative investment analysis, and a sophisticated approach to asset allocation and the use of derivatives.

Steve began his career with State Street Global Advisors and later joined Columbia Management Investment Advisors in Boston as a senior investment advisor. During his career, Steve has focused on developing comprehensive solutions for families, executives and entrepreneurs with concentrated stock positions.

Steve earned an M.A. in Finance from Boston College’s Wallace Carroll School of Management. He has also earned a B.S. in industrial engineering and a B.S. in mathematics/computer science from Columbia University and Providence College, respectively. Steve holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation.

Arzhang Kamarei
COO, Tradeworx

Arzhang Kamarei is the COO for Tradeworx, a quantitative hedge fund with medium and high frequency businesses. Arzhang is also a Managing Partner of Thesys Technologies, a Tradeworx subsidiary that serves as an incubator for high frequency trading strategists. His responsibilities focus on business development and sourcing of new managers in the high frequency space. Arzhang began his career at Goldman, Sachs & Co. in the International Equities Division, where he served as a market-maker and proprietary trader in European, Asian, and Canadian shares. Arzhang is a Chartered Financial Analyst and received his bachelor’s degree from Harvard University and his masters from New York University.

Eric Karpman
CEO, Trading Strategy Group

Eric Karpman has over 15 years of a broad financial industry experience and is currently a CEO of Trading Strategy Group, a boutique asset management and advisory firm. In addition to running quantitative strategies for its own books, the company is advising and consulting some large buy-side and sell-side shops through its association with Luxoft Technology Solutions and their highly skilled technical resources. Prior to the establishment of Trading Strategy Group, Eric was a Head of Trading Technology for Renaissance Capital. Eric has also run trading projects at BNY Mellon Asset Management, Bear Stearns, JJKennyDrake division of Standard & Poor’s and Fuji Bank. Throughout his career, Eric and his teams have successfully implemented electronic trading systems with direct interfaces to the Street as well as the algorithmic, program and direct market access trading platforms for instant market analysis, decision-making capabilities and straight-through processing. Eric has also held a number of senior positions at FIX Protocol Limited where he was involved with the direction and strategy of this messaging standard developed specifically for the real-time electronic exchange of securities transactions. In addition, Eric has taught various technology and business-oriented courses at a number of colleges and universities in New York. Eric holds an M.B.A. degree in Finance from the New York University Stern School of Business.

Michael J. Levas
Chief Investment Officer and Managing Member of Olympian Capital Management LLC

Michael J. Levas has been in the investment management business for over fifteen years and is the founder, chief investment officer and managing member of Olympian Capital Management LLC, and Olympian Partners, L.P. Prior to Olympian, he was a VP and Portfolio Manager in the Private Client Group at Lehman Brothers Inc. Prior to that, he was a VP with SG Cowen, UBS PaineWebber and Bear Stearns where he managed in excess of $250 million in both institutional and retail portfolios.

Mr. Levas is licensed Series 24 general securities principal, Series 7 general securities representative, and a Series 65, 66 investment adviser representative with FINRA. He is also the founder and principal of Olympian Futures LLC, an NFA registered introducing broker, and a licensed Series 3 associated person. Mr. Levas currently holds the CPM designation from the American Academy of Financial Management and is a candidate for the CFA level one, and has completed investment management studies at Harvard Business School. In addition, he is a current member of the CFA society of South Florida, Securities Traders Association of Florida, and serves on the 2008/2009 board of directors of The Hedge Fund Association.

Mary McDermott-Holland
Director – Trading Manager, Mellon Capital Management

Ms. McDermott-Holland is Director of Trading at Mellon Capital Management in Boston, Massachusetts. Last November Franklin Portfolio Associates merged into Mellon Capital Management where she held the role of Senior Vice President of Trading. Mary is Past Chairman of the Security Traders Association (STA). She has also served STA as Co-Chair of the Trading Issues Committee, as Co-Chair of the Institutional Committee, as Chairman of the Conference Committee, Technology Committee and Economic Education Committee. Mary is a former member of NASDAQ’s Institutional Traders Advisory Council having been the founding Chairman of the group from 1998-2001 and then a committee member thorough 2003. Mary also serves on the Board of the Boston Stock Exchange (since 2001) and on both the Regulatory Oversight Committee and Fees Committee of the BSE Board. She has served on the New York Stock Exchange Institutional Traders Advisory Committee and on NYSE’s Allocation Committee. Mary was a Co-Chair of NASDAQ’s Quality of Markets Committee and is a member of Trader Forum’s Advisory Committee, a member of the National Organization of Investment Professionals, and a member of the Investment Company Institute’s Equity Markets Advisory Committee. Jason McLean
Head Trader, Iridian Asset Management

JASON B. McLEAN, Vice President and Director of Trading, is responsible for equity trading for both large- and mid-capitalization value equity portfolios, as well as hedge fund products. Prior to joining Iridian in December 2004, he previously worked six years as an equity trader, as well as almost three years in financial services at AIM Investments. Mr. McLean holds a B.S. in Economics from Texas A&M University (1992).

Timothy M. Olsen
Sr. Vice President/Head Trader, ICM Asset Management, Inc.

Tim Olsen is Senior Vice President and Head Equity Trader with ICM Asset Management. His nearly two decades of industry experience include his trading experience with ICM since 1998 and prior to that as an account executive with Jefferies & Company for nearly 10 years. As a leader at ICM he co-manages the Investment Services Team which includes Operations, Client Services, Corporate Communications and Trading. In addition, he is part of the firm’s senior management team, providing solutions while executing ICM’s strategic and tactical decisions. Denise K. Shull
CEO, The ReThink Group Inc., parent of Trader Psyches

Denise K. Shull, M.A., a globally recognized expert in risk psychology, is also a leading theoretician in the application of neuroeconomics, as well as behavioral and emotional finance to the process of decision making under uncertainty.

Recently profiled by Bloomberg Markets Magazine, Shull is CEO of The Re‐Think Group, a consultancy dedicated to optimizing risk management paradigms through the inclusion of effective qualitative analytics. The Re‐Think Group is also the parent company of Trader Psyches Inc., which she founded in 2003. The companies count hedge funds, international banks and professional traders among their clients.

Ms. Shull received her master’s degree in neuropsychoanalysis from The University of Chicago in 1995. She continued studies toward her PhD at The Mid‐Manhattan Institute of Psychoanalysis and today she belongs to The Society for Neuroeconomics, The Association for NeuroPsychoEconomics and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange where she still actively trades the index futures contracts.

Bill Stephenson

Bill Stephenson, Senior Vice President, is the Director of Global Trading Strategy at Franklin Templeton Investments.  The firm has offices in more than 28 countries and manages more than $600 billion in assets.
